POOR JUDGMENT OF TAMIL NADU CHIEF MINISTER IN BUILDING GOVERNMENT SPONSORED MONUMENTS AND MEMORIALS FOR TYRANT MUSLIM KINGS WHO TORTURED HINDUS IN INDIA, WILL THE GOVERNMENT BUILD SIMILAR MONUMENT FOR SAINT XAVIER OR AJMAL KASAAB TOMORROW? WHAT MAKES GOVERNMENTS STOMP ON THE SENTIMENTS OF MAJORITY HINDUS IN INDIA UNDER THE NAME OF SECULARISM? WHERE ARE COMMON SENSE AND ELEMENTARY SENSE OF HISTORICAL JUSTICE GONE?

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in response to a demand by some communist legislative assembly member and a member of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), has agreed to build a government funded, sponsored, endorsed and legitimised memorial to Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali in Dindukkal. I am sending you all an excerpt from the dairies of a french lady who spent time in Tipu's darbar.

I must be stupid but aren't Tipu and Hyder Ali the same as Aurangazeb? And. aren't Palani Baba and Basha, Osama Bin Laden and Ajmal Kasab also the same? And, Yaseen Malik and Hafiz Sayeed? Wasnt this country the victim in all of their life times?

Can we then presume that some other leader 100 yrs down the lane or maybe even earlier,  raise another memorial for Ajmal Kasab and Palani Baba on Indian soil? After all, did not the TMMK, The Tauheed Jama-at and the Muslim League protest the Aurangazeb Exhibition in Chennai and threaten the police and the organizers with a law and order disrupting situation if the exhibition was not shut down?

Tipu and Hyder Ali were freedom fighters? Sice when and what kind? And why were they fighitng the British? Were the British our only enemies? Was not the first war of indpenedence in 1857 about defeating the British and installing Bahadur Shah Zafar on the Delhi throne? Didn't the Muslims sell this lemon to idiotic Hindus who fought the British to return Islamic rule to India?  And, didn't Gandhi say Hindus should allow Muslims to rule them if that was  the price which the Muslim league demanded for Hindu-Muslim unity to evict the British from India?

Pure blind sentimentalism as Aurobondo said. Or, willing suspension of disbelief as Shakespeare said. Muslim groups staged a noisy dharna before Blue Cross of India yesterday. Their claim - "cow slaughter is our fundamental right" and "the manner in which we transport these animals to make it economically viable for us is also our fundamental right." The same group was also present in the Poondamallee court yesterday when the case for return of cattle rescued from illegal transportation came up for hearing.

Memorial for Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali in Dindukkal!!!! What signal is the TN government sending and to whom? There is this beautiful ancient temple in Dindukkal atop the Padmagiri Hills - Abhirami Sameta Padagirishwarar temple. Tipu threw out Abhirami and Hyder Ali threw out Bhagwan Shiva. Both are now therefore housed in a small temple in Dindukkal and the temple is a lifeless ASI monument now.

And a memorial for the two who orphaned the temple and rendered the deities homeless!!! Am I the only one who is crying? - RR
