WITH THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN NEPAL

SENT THEM BIBLES INSTEAD OF FOOD, WATER OR OTHER RELIEF MATERIAL

Following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday, over 100,000 editions of Gideon Bibles have arrived in Nepal to provide relief for the millions of Nepalese desperate for help.

The government and rescue groups have called the step as misguided. “Well, isn’t that just a plane-load of stupid garbage?” said a shocked and annoyed Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

It is not a surprise to see the evangelical vultures are playing with the life of the people in distress. This is what they do everywhere when people are suffering.

“We cannot eat Bibles. We cannot use them as shovels.” “Nepal desperately needs food and medicine and equipment and workers not best-seller books.” “If you are praying for Nepal, we thank you,” said Koirala. “But I humbly ask that you also get up and actually do something, donate, encourage others to donate. Just please do not send us any more Bibles.”

Officially, the Nepalese government thanked Gideons International for the Christian Bibles but has requested that next time perhaps they “give their thick heads a shake” and send emergency supplies, not stacks of the New Testament.

The first IAF plane lands with relief material before 6 PM. Then, one plane landed every 2 hours. Within 24 hours, the Government of India sent 4 Tonnes of relief material, teams of doctors (both from the Armed Forces as well as civilians), specialised cranes (JCBs), food, water & medicine.

The RSS sends 20000 Swayamsevaks for relief operations - within 40 hours.
(They did not carry copies of the Veda or the Upanishad with them for distribution).

The Indian Railways carried 100000 bottles of drinking water to Kathmandu - within 34 hours.

The public sector telecom. companies decided to charge all calls to Nepal as local locals and not as international calls - within 24 hours.
