TIT BITS OF RIG VEDA MADE EASY
सूक्त १९ Sookta 19
देवता अग्नि and मरुद्गण
In this sookta new devata is introduced and is invited to join the
यज्ञ. The description is so graphic that मरुद्गण come alive as the group of winds in the stratosphere that bring rain showers all over the earth and on the oceans by directing the clouds in chosen directions.
They are described as doing संचालन of मेघमाला. They drive the garlands of water-filled clouds bringing massive quantities of water to the oceans. They are described as हिन्साशून्य or nonviolent.
MarudgaNas are recognized here as Devata and are linked with Agni अग्नि. Which clearly substantiates that Marudganas are as important form of transforming agency as Agni (अग्नि) is.
This brings us to the topic of Devas and Devatas as conceptualized
by Achintyachintaka.
As brahman evolves or differentiates into Prakriti (Prototype
of Creative Energy, and mass-energy-space-time complex emerges from this Prakriti) the other aspects of Brahman also emerge as the powers of Brahman to be reckoned with. The consciousness that goes beyond Prakriti is timeless "present", unchanging, without differentiation and the origin of all conscious entities described later as Sat Chid Ananda. Devas and Devatas derive their powers from the same Brahman.
This manifestation of various Devas and Devatas is only a minute fraction of Brahman which is infinite - absolute and does not diminish with different forms differentiating within it. These have supernatural intelligence that is evident in the nature. For ages these Marudganas have been directing the clouds in different directions with super-computation as it were in the stratosphere of the earth.
Vedas give us the knowledge of the operation of this manifestation of Brahman and systematically prepare us for grasping the magnificence of Brahman even long before the topic of Brahman is introduced in the Vedas.

HYMN XIX. Agni, Maruts.
1 To this fair sacrifice to drink the milky draught thou art invoked:
O Agni, with the Maruts come.
2 No mortal man, no God exceeds thy mental power, O Mighty one -
O Agni, with the Maruts come
3 All Gods devoid of guile, who know the mighty region of mid-air:
O Agni, with those Maruts come.
4 The terrible, who sing their song, not to be overcome by might:
O Agni, with those Maruts come.
5 Brilliant, and awful in their form, mighty, devourers of their foes':
O Agni, with those Maruts come.
6 Who sit as Deities in heaven, above the sky-vault's luminous sphere:
O Agni, with those Maruts come.
7 Who scatter clouds about the sky, away over the billowy sea:
O Agni, with those Maruts come.
8 Who with their bright beams spread them forth over the ocean in their might
O Agni, with those Maruts come.
9 For thee, to be thine early draught, I pour the Soma-mingled meath:
O Agni, with the Maruts come.
