Former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended his greetings to the government led by his bete-noire Narendra Modi and said he has “great expectations” from it, including granting of special category status to his state, Bihar.
Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi will be going to Delhi to participate in the oath taking ceremony.

Glad to note that even CMs from almost states are stating. However sad to note that Tamilnadu CM Jayalalitha is not attending. Even people who oppose him including Samajwadi party is attending. Our Panaji Correspondent Prakash Kamat, quoting sources says, North Goa four-time MP Shripad Naik could be sworn-in as a Minister of State with Independent Charge in the Narendra Modi cabinet.
12:55 p.m.: Oath in Sanskrit? Our correspondent Puja Mehra says Modi could take oath this evening in Sanskrit.
12.40 p.m.: Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take oath along with 44 other ministers, according to sources.
Sources added that there will be 23 ministers of Cabinet rank, 10 Ministers of State with Independent Charge and 11 Ministers of State.

12.35 p.m: MDMK leader Vaiko detained at Jantar Mantar in Delhi while protesting Rajapaksa visit, reports Shubhomoy Sikdar

The alliance parties of NDA should maintain broad and matured mind with national spirit and integrity. They should extend a supporting hand to the new prime minister to sort out various issues. People have elected the new NDA government with many hopes and expectations. All parties of NDA should hold the responsibility of fulfilling the aspirations of the people."
11.45 a.m.: Vaiko holds demonstration againt Rajapaksa: MDMK chief Vaiko, an NDA ally, held a protest in New Delhi against the visit of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa for Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.

11.20 a.m.: Rajnath, Jaitley meet Modi
Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, met Narendra Modi, ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.
Sushma Swaraj, Ravishankar Prasad, Nirmala Sitharaman, Uma Bharti, Najma Heptullah, Ananth Kumar, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Maneka Gandhi, Harsh Vardhan met Modi at the Gujarat Bhawan.
Ram Vilas Paswan of the LJP and leaders of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party were some of the alliances partners who met Modi.
11.11 a.m.: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived for Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. "Pakistan wants good relations with India and I am going to New Delhi with a 'message of peace'," Sharif said on arrival.
11.05 a.m.: Akhilesh, Mulayam to attend Modi's swearing in
UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Akhilesh Yadav's wife and Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav, Akshay Pratap (MP from Firozabad) and Dharmendra Yadav (MP from Badaun) will be part of the SP delegation attending the inauguration.
Mulayam Singh flew into the national capital late Sunday.
11.00 am: Rajapaksa, Ramgoolam arrive for Modi’s swearing-in
Sri Lankana President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam arrived in New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Mr. Rajapaksa is among the six SAARC heads of state invited for the swearing-in which will be attended by nearly 4,000 guests in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan later today.
Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and Speaker of Bangladesh Shirin Chaudhry, who is representing her Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, arrived on Sunday for the ceremony.
Sharif, Rajapaksa arrive for Modi’s swearing-in ceremony
10.45 am: Shairf leaves for India
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif leaves for India to attend Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
Mr. Sharif, accompanied by a small delegation, will leave Pakistan at 9.30 a.m. (local time) and land in New Delhi after a brief flight at around 11.00 a.m. (local time).
10.10 am: Modi meets Vajpayee
Mr. Modi met former Prime Minister A.B, Vajpayee at his residence in New Delhi and sought his blessings.
9:53 am: Rajinikath to skip Modi's swearing-in
Sources said the actor was not in town and, therefore, would not attend the ceremony.
9.48 am: Uddhav to attend swearing-in
The Shiv Sena has decided to attend Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi’s oath-taking ceremony on Monday despite its misgivings about Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s presence at the event.
The Shiv Sena’s Anant Geete is expected to get a cabinet berth in the newly formed Union Cabinet.
9.22 am.: Sonia, Rahul to attend
Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, besides leaders of various other parties and Chief Ministers of a number of states. Outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also be present at the swearing in ceremony.
9.22 am.: Narendra Modi visits Rajghat
Ahead of being sworn in as India’s 15th Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Monday visited Rajghat and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Modi spent around 10 minutes at Rajghat.
A number of Delhi BJP leaders, including Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Mr. Vijay Goel and Mr. Vijender Gupta were present at Rajghat.

All roads lead to Delhi today as Prime Minister elect Narendra Modi and his cabinet will be administered the oath at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan at 6 pm.
